JERRY PAUL

Jerry began picking bluegrass banjo over 36 years  ago.  After playing locally at festivals and clubs for over a decade, he converted over to the upright bass and began singing lead and harmony. With his knowledge of bluegrass, fostered from hosting a bluegrass radio show for 6 years, he has a keen sense of knowing what folks want to hear!  He is the backbone of the Lost Mill String Band, keeping a steadfast beat and adding just enough accompaniment fill to give the duet a full sound.

Jerry is the current Chairman of the Bill Monroe Bluegrass Music Hall Of Fame, located in Bean Blossom, Indiana.

Jerry’s instruments include;

1850 Hans Phlander, German hand carved upright bass-"General Patton"

1934 King upright bass-"Big John"

1940 Kay upright bass-"Little Joe"

1940's RB5 Gibson Mastertone banjo
